Discussion microphone systems and hall sound systems

Large conferences with intensive discussions and many participants use discussion microphone systems. They let participants hear each other well, record contributions in high quality, and feed clean audio into simultaneous interpretation and teleconference systems.

We rent two types of discussion systems: wired and wireless.

A wired digital discussion system is a system of microphones connected by cables. The audio is digitised and transmitted in digital form, so it is protected from GSM mobile phone interference and possible eavesdropping.

In a wireless digital discussion system the microphones are linked via an infrared (IR) interface. Its advantages are a more flexible and convenient layout in the hall (theatre style, round tables, etc.) and a tidier look, as there are no cables between microphones. As in the wired system, the audio is digitised, transmitted in digital form and protected from GSM interference.

The discussion system can be combined with an automatic video camera that turns to whichever participant switches on their microphone. This is very convenient at large events where participants sit far apart and are hard to see. The speaker’s image is shown on LED screens or projectors, which also makes this a good option for web conferences and teleconferences.
